A Creative Wizard Awakens

When I was 4 years old, my mother started dropping stacks of paper and crayons for me to scribble with on the floor, and I immediately became obsessed with creating.

As a teenager, my accumlation of drawings formed into a portfolio that attracted compliments and confirmation of my creative gift, which ultimately won me a half-ride scholarship to the Kansas City Art Institute, where I graduated in 2010.

After graduation, I felt like I could make anything come alive on canvas. But as student loans ran out and their due date stamped itself on my life, the motivation to make art for it's own sake morphed into the need to sell art in order to survive.

I knew my art served a greater purpose than just to look pretty on a wall or a mere tool to make money, but I didn't know what that meant. So the motivation to make art to survive was my only clear motivation and I became confused as to why I should make art in the first place.

In order to cover up my depression, I tried to prove that I was a real, professional artist by selling portraits on the streets, offering strangers free sketches, and capturing people's attention on social media with my images.
I took undemanding jobs in restaurants, in order to buy time and search for meaing and inspiration.

I managed to attract some commission requests, but I struggled to create personal work. I spent 9 years consuming self-help advice, marketing strategies, and spiritual teachings, so I could puzzle together the pieces of the map that showed the location of the wings to make my art career take off.

I found a lot of useful information about how I am designed, but I was like a ship admiring my cargo, with no destination to deliver it.

On my 33rd birthday on a Spring night of 2019, I sat alone in my dark apartment in downtown Kansas City  with a question looming over me, "Why do I have this natural gift to make anything I can imagine, but don't feel motivated to create anything at all?"

Well, the angels must have heard my question, because as I scrolled lazily through Youtube trying to fill the emptiness in my gut, I immediately started watching a video of someone I follow talking about something called, the New Message from God. Every word struck me and directly addressed my struggle to find purpose, meaning, and direction.

So, I went to the New Message website, where I found hundreds of texts that gave me a sense that I had finally found the wise old teacher, who I always needed but could never find in the world.

The New Message is the answer to my prayers, because it's showing me how to use my gift of capturing reality in beautiful artworks, and use it to express what is needed in the world. This inspires me to show what it looks like to live in harmony with nature, by creating beautful objects that have practical value, such as a public art sculpture that acts as a small powerplant by capturing sun and wind.

As I share my new art on social media, people are asking me to make their visions of a more beautiful world come to life. So I am stepping into my design as a creative wizard, and embarking on a mission to capture Visions of Heavenly Earth, so that my audience feels inspired to build it.

My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.

Inspiration

Through meditation and reading the New Message from God, I receive artistic visions that respond to the challenges we face in the world.

Techniques

Many types of mediums interest me, but I seek to mimic the look and feel of reality through them all.

Career Highlights

I graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute with a degree in animation, thinking I would create moving paintings, but that proved to be too challenging as a solo artist. So I eventually settled on creating still imagery to capture realistic visions of what it could look like to live in harmony with nature.
